VISA and Travel Document Information:
·You will need a passport to enter Costa Rica. Passports should be valid for at least six months beyond the dates of your trip. You will most likely receive a 90 day visa upon entering the country.
·During your stay, the law requires that you carry your passport at all times, although a copy usually suffices (make sure to bring a couple copies of your passport).
· You will also need to leave the country every 90 days for at least 72 hours to renew your tourist VISA. The easiest way to do this is to take a trip either to Panama or Nicaragua but traveling anywhere out of the country will do.
·If you buy a one-way ticket to Costa Rica you might be forced to buy a return ticket. If you a not sure of your return, buy a 100% refundable one way ticket to the closest and cheapest airport to San Jose and make sure you get to number to call and get your refund ASAP. Make SURE the ticket is 100% refundable. It may be hard to believe they exist, but they do.
